As the title suggests, the aim of my article is to show you International students how to apply to a British university. In effect, the application is a little bit complicated if you do not know the different steps but my article may be able to help you . Firstly, if you have a good level of English I suggest applying directly to an university. And secondly, I you think you have to improve your level before, I recommend going to an English language school in the UK.
Regarding my first suggestion, you can apply directly to an university if you think having a good English level. The application can be divided into many stages. Firstly, I recommend checking some information about your chosen university. For instance, the subject you want to learn and the appropriate fees. Moreover, the starting dates and the ucas number of the subject. Some universities allow you to apply directly via their website. Secondly, I suggest passing your IELTS exam and notice that it depends on the quality of the university. Obviously, by that I mean some will ask you 6.0 out of 9 and others 8.0 like Oxford university. After having succeeded in your IELTS exam, you will have to show the university proof of your success and then they will give you the CAS number which will help you for the last stage: the visa application.
My second suggestion concerns the students who want to improve their English level before starting courses. In this case, you should go to a language school and improve your English level for over 2 or 3 months depending on your level. I recommend going to OISE Bristol one of the greatest language schools in Britain. Of course I have studied there for over than 2 months. After having finished your English courses, you have to pass your IELTS exam. You will need a score which depends on your chosen university. Therefore, before doing your IELTS exam, ask the University staff their required score. Then, you will be able to start your application. N.B. Do not forget to send them all of the required transcripts including your certificates and proof of your IELTS success. Finally, the university will send you the acceptance confirmation including the CAS number which will help for your visa application.
I hope my article will help you for your British university application.
